Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced a 2022 world stadium tour through a hilarious comedic sketch.

On Friday, September 24, the band revealed that they have teamed up with Live Nation for a world tour next year.

In the video, the members of the band are seen dressed in comically absurd wigs and sweater-vests in what appears to be a promotional video for the fictional news station, “KHOT.”

The nearly-3-minute video, now with over a half-million views on YouTube, features Johnson Hammerswaddle (Anthony Kiedis) and Todd the Squirrel (Flea) as the anchors for the station, who open the clip by rattling off a series of fake news pieces, including the falling price of beer nuts, celebrities caught in a nose-picking scandal, and predictions for how half of humanity would “boil to death by next Thursday.”

The pair then invite onto the interview portion of the show, guitarist John Frusciante, who rejoined the band in December of 2019.

“Yeah, we’re gonna do a tour starting in June of 2022,” he reveals when asked about upcoming tour plans, upon hearing which the two hosts absolutely lose their minds and run around screaming in excitement.

In the clip, Frusciante also shared that the U.S leg of the show is slated to kick off in July of 2022.

More information about dates, sales details, and supporting acts is expected to be released in the coming months.
